vacuum line

i was working on my 89 f350 w a 460 and noticed a disconnected vacuum line behind the motor...it is connected to a tee that goes to a canister above the drivers side wheel well and the other goes to a round plactic ball about the size of a grapefruit next to the relays...i figure it connects to the intake manifold behind the throttle body...what do u think it does?

I think it sucks the unspent fuel vapor through the smog canister...I have a similar setup on my 5.0.

I would say it goes to the intake manifold behind the throttle body.
The Ball is for the Vent system.
The canister above the drivers side wheel well is for the Speed Control.
