Spindle Arm Ball Replacement??

The ball on the spindle arm of my F1 is very worn, and needs replacement. Is the only option that of buying a new spindle arm? Or.... can that ball be removed and a new one installed. It appears as though the ball is installed via some manner of press in, and then swaging to insure its retention. The larger trucks (F4,5,6) have a removable stud ball but they also have extra room so the spindle arm clears the axle. The F1 has limited room, thus the different mounting process.

Any information on this would be very helpful. If there might be an aftermarket steering arm that could take the place of this system, I'd be open to that as well.

Thanks in advance

They are press fit, best way is to take it to a Big Truck repair shop.

Yup, press fit

I replaced the one on my F1 with one from a Toyota (when I did the power steering swap) I pressed the old one out, pressed the new one in

They do sell replacement ball studs that are threaded. Sacramento Vintage Ford shows them as pn 7163 for 48-56 F1/100. Price was about $20 last catalog I got.
