radio problem

when i start my truck, every time the radio loses all memory. there was not a radio in it and i installed one with a install kit to all instructions. the truck is a former fire truck and the solinoid on the fender is where they fed the pump and reel. All the wires are on the front post could this be the problem. thank you...

Obviously the orange “Hot” wire is being switched with the ignition, which should always be hot. Double check you’re wiring harness kit and how you have it hooked up.

I know this is a really old post, but i think that i might have fixed the problem, by accident, i was looking at the ground wire on the battery and noticed the small wire that goes to the two wires that are in the harness looked bad, well anyways i decided to redo it and make it look better, and discovered that the wires were just twisted together, so i soldered them together and reinstalled them and guess what the radio has not lost memory yet.....I hope that this fixed the problem.......

Hey, who knows what wires you fixed, but you fixed it, that's all that matters!
