Daytime Running Lights
Anyone know how to get the headlights to stop being on all the time, and make the lights operate on the headlight switch only? Im sick of replacing bulbs all the time on my 2001. My 2000 doesnt have the running lights and Id like to convert my 01 to that.

I know it is nothing but a relay that you remove, swing by an auto zone or something, look in the haines book, you will see it, I just havent put my hand on it yet. I kind of like the daylight runner at night, I am not blinding everyone in the city, or the drive through

Do you have a Canadian built truck? I do and the DRL relay is also the fog light relay. If you pull the relay, then you lose both DRL's and fogs. I want to get rid of my DRL's, but keep the fog lights. I just haven't found the right wires to work around yet. Anyone?

whitesford I'll try to get a picture tomorrow for you. If I remember right it's darn near hidden under a heat sink??? Some sort of metal piece. Heck it's been a couple years since I looked at it. I'll look tomorrow.

I know I shoudn't say this but I have an 02 with daylights and 88000 mi. and have never changed a bulb yet. Mine is a Canadian which I bought used.

2 relays and 1 resistor
realy 1 - engine compartment, rear, in auxiliary fuse and relay box
relay 2 - engine compartment, rear, in auxiliary fuse and relay box
resistor - engine compartment, front, LH side
