I removed the single screw next to the armrest pad and I am unable to roll up my window properly, and cannot seem to get the window mechanism lined up with the screw hole so I can put in back in. Is there a simple solution or do I need to remove the door panel? Any help is greatly appreciated!
OK everyone, I cannot beleive someone did not have an answer to this but I figured it out. Inside the door, there is a support bracket for the arm rest. I removed the screw inside the cab, next to the arm rest, where you can place your fingers to pull the door closed. When I did that the window could not be rolled up or down properly, it was binding/stopping. The reason for this is that inside the door there is a support bracket that is attached to the inner door by one screw at the bottom, and the top of the bracket fits into a slot that is cut into the inner door. The bracket is about 8 inches long and is positioned vertically. Anyone that has removed an inner door panel should have known this because in addition to prying the plastic retainers away from the door to remove the inner door panel you must also remove this single screw to remove the panel. The problem I ran into occurred because the screw at the bottom of the support bracket had worked itself loose over time and fallen out. Therefore, when I removed the screw on the door panel, the bracket fell out of its original position and prevented the window from rolling up or down properly. I removed the door panel and retrieved the bracket, bent it into the original shape, slid it into the upper slot and replaced the missing screw at the bottom and installed the door panel after lubricating all moving parts. All is well. I this helps someone in the future.
it helps me as i'm going to dye my interior in the next couple monthes. Thank you for your input doctorolds and sorry nobody had a solution for you but maybe now you feel accomplished??
