Yet another dumb question...
I'm picking up my 05 250 on Thurs. What size drawbar do I need for the receiver? I read about some adapter to allow the use of a 2" drawbar...bad idea?

I'm not sure why you would want to use an adapter.

If the truck is stock, you'll need a 4 inch drop. My 03 is stock and the 4 inch works perfect for me.

Neither do I, but I read that there was one that comes with the truck...mine doesn't have it.

I meant what size is the receiver? 2" or bigger?

Most likely 2". The '05 was available with 2.5" receiver if you got the 15000 pound hitch- Mutually exclusive I mean.

Yep, and the 15,000lb 2-1/2" hitch from FMC was only available on the DRW F350.
