So I just finished my 351 swap into my 87 F150 that originally had a 302. I got the engine and tranny back in the truck, and got all the wires / hoses hooked up...time to swap the computer. So I pull the old computer out and what does the sticker say?? "3.0 Taurus and Sable only". Guess what, 302 V8's run great on 3.0 V6 computers. Gotta love batch fire injection! Just thought I'd share. Now it's time to fab up an exhaust system and see if she'll run.
when i did my swap from a 300 to a 302 when we went to undo the motor mount bolts from the fram we found out that my motor had never been bolted to the frame right from the factory. I drove it around likr that for 7 years!! Amazing what you find sometimes
Clearly this computer is from the rare Taurus V8 option. The "3.0" on the label is a typo -- it should read 5.0
Too bad the Taurus SHO didn't get a V8 till '96, and even then, it was a DOHC Yamaha 3.4L V8, not a 5.0. I hope you were being sarcastic with that comment.
hahahahaha Where can I get one of those? I'll throw a LSD up front and call it good! Oh wait, that extra special edition was rear wheel drive too wasn't it?
hey didnt those special edition tauruses have a "spoon" motor in them???
they came factory with 9 carbs and dual, dual exhaust, 3 inch, the whole way!!!
