Slight "Woosh" sound when braking

Hooked up the 8K horse trailer to the new 2007 F250 SD w/integrated brake controller, adjusted the controller and checked the ride.

Handles very well and stops without the lock-up experienced on the old truck with an add-on brake controller. Very impressed with the braking, however hear a slight "woosh" sound from the front, (driver's window open) only when braking. Sounds like it comes from the master cylinder. Anyone hear the same? Is this normal?

Normal. Hydraulics are showing you that they're doing their job.

When I got my truck last fall, heard the same sound and worried about a potential vacuum booster problem like I had on my old in-line 300. The folks in here helped me understand that the PSD doesn't have a vacuum booster on the brakes, and that the hydraulics were simply doing thei thing the way they are supposed to.

Glad to hear it's normal

Thx Redford.

Have the LT265/70R17E BF Goodrich tires. I set to door spec 75 psi when loaded. Do you have the same and what pressure do you use when not towing?

They were set to 42 psi at the dealer. Way too low for the street. The truck is normal load 7200 lb, so guess 60 psi is probably OK?

Now, got to get to the dealer. Looks like some height challenged person used the drivers door to climb in the cab and it is difficult to close.
