I have an 85 f150 that i want to change to a two-barrel. What year and model of fords have one that i can use with my stock manifold. Or what carb should i get, i am hoping to get a used one.
None will fit up to the stock manifold as it is a 1bbl thus too small of a port for the carb to hook to. I am thinking of doing the same thing once I get mine running. To get it to work with stock manifold I am going to attempt to build an adapter that funnels the 2bbl down to 1. I have also been told that someone makes an adapter but I dont know who. I have also been told that the Motorcraft 2130 is a good carb to use on these at its pretty common in the 70's and thereabouts. I have two from an old 351M to build one from.
Linkage/brackets may be something to tinker with but not a major problem. 2100 carb is popular and you can get 2v carbs up to 500 cfm and even 2v's with a primary and secondary bores. Just depends on what kind of driveability, performance and mpg you are shooting for.
Try the FSP Forum...lots of carb suggestions over there.
