this is the engine one test

21. Engine Coolant

Test), not at normal
operating temperature
(Engine Run Self-Test) or
loss of signal (during
normal engine operation).
or,
Electronic Distributorless
Ignition System (EDIS) fault
– problems with Crankshaft
Position Sensor (CPS)
circuit.

44.
Problems in Thermactor Air
Control system.

33.
EGR Valve Position (EVP)
sensor or Pressure
Feedback EGR (PFE)
sensor indicates EGR valve
is not opening.
or,
EGR Valve Position (EVP)
sensor or Pressure
Feedback EGR (PFE)
sensor indicates EGR valve
not seated (closed) properly

74.Brake ON/OFF (BOO)
switch action not detected
during Dynamic Response

I'd pay attention to the EGR code and adaptive limit code first and not really worry about the rest just yet. The 21 was likely due to the engine not being warmed up when you ran the test, and 74 is either a bad BOO switch or you didn't step on the brake pedal after you goosed the throttle.

Adaptive limit means the computer is trimming the fuel mixture based on the O2 sensor feedback and has reached the limit to how much more fuel or less fuel the engine needs, but the mixture is still wrong. It could be an O2 sensor, or it could be a vacuum leak or a fuel leak, or possibly even a misfire. These OBD-I codes are not as specific as the OBD-II codes are, so diagnosing the actual cause of the problem on these trucks is a little more complex.

So code 34, "evp voltage too high" means there's either something wrong with the egr position sensor or the EGR is stuck open or shut?
