A couple of weeks ago i got a 2003 F350. It had the 6.0 in it and i know its a bad year cause of some problems with the motor. Its got 130000k miles on it. It gets great MPG's runnig down the interstate( almost 19mpg) but there is an issue. When ever the truck shifts into overdrive, the motors starts shuddering. Now i could be wrong and it could be the transmission but ill get on the gas and it nothing will happen but a really scary shudder. If i let off the gas and get on it again so it downshifts and it will go again but it doesnt like overdrive. Any one had this problem. It also idles real rough after about a hour of driving.
You might get a bit more help around here if you were to perhaps change the title of the thread; this is a Ford site and noone gives two flying rat turds about Chevrolet or the fact that you miss yours.
Man you guys are brutal..... ......The guy HAD a bowtie.....Now he has a TRUCK!
grinekb, sorry have not stepped up to a 6.0 yet so I am no help.........But hang out I don't think all the guys over here are such hard a$$es as the first bunch.......Good Luck!
Sorry I'm late, must have missed this one earlier. Did you ever think about having an oasis run on your truck to see what problems if any it has had? As far as the shudder, it may very well be the insurmountable HP/TQ the 6.0 is known for. At 130k it could need a tranny rebuild and nothing more. I will tell you this, in case you have not already figured out. This is a Ford site, we really don't care how good your Chevy was, and it sure won't win you any friends in this forum.
Ever thought about having the transmission serviced? It may be in tow-haul, try tranny without tow-haul (for not shifting into overdrive). When was your oil last changed? Low quality, foaming, or oil past change interval can cause rough idle after driving for some time. (with 130,000 miles I'd want to change all fluids & filters or make darn sure that it had been done in a timely fashion)
No need to get everyone's panties in a bunch, there is a simple solution for this problem he is having. If he misses his bowtie sooo much, then sell your 03 PSD, hopefully to some one on here that wants it and get you another bowtie. Then the guy you sell your 03 PSD to can tune it and do an few other things to it and one day while you are driving in you bowtie he'll hand you your A$$ on a plater then you can get on a bowtie site and post "Man I really miss my PSD".
With that said, maybe now you might concider changing the title, like Matt suggested before you get too many more post like this.
I second what Matt said about the injector. I changed #2 on Saturday after having similar issues for a while. Have been thinking it was due to turbo surge but that seems to have gone away. "Granny" absolutely hated 42-50mph.
FWIW--Clicking the tow/haul button does NOT lock the torqshift out of overdrive. It changes the way the transmission shifts up and down. Have the transmission serviced but have the injectors checked too. If there is a bad one it will show up.

The bold bit makes it sound like a bad injector to me... as others have mentioned.
But that doesn't mean that your transmission doesn't need an overhaul too.
Do you know its service history? Is it still on its original transmission fluid?
Have you had an OASIS run on it?
As for the previous title. Bear in mind a user has about a 1 minute window to edit thier thread title ladies and gents
well he did change it and maybe we will be nice now...... maybe not? who knows
but yes sounds like you should check OASIS and then get back with that info btw OASIS is at the top of the thread if you did not know
