while driving last night , check engine light came on , went to autozone today and they said it is "multiple random cylinder misfires" . any help with a cure would be appreciated. my plan is to go to the local ford dealer but i just figured you guys have the knowledge and know how that you may have the answers . its a 2005 expy limited . thanks in advance
what engine?
how many miles?
when's the last time you changed the plugs, dependent upon mileage of course?
have you had any service performed lately?
how is it performing?
hesitating?
surging?
sorry for lack of info, new purchase , bought it used 12,000 miles 5.4 engine , drove great but felt alittle like the exhaust was backed up sometimes, before the light came on it really was missing because you could feel it surge and then almost stall at each traffic light
hmmmm, I'd try posting this question, or better yet - provide the link to this thread - in the 4.6/5.4L modular section....you'll get a lot more answers.
The symptoms make it sound like the IAC (idle air control) valve or even an O2 sensor (mine has 5), but not if it's throwing that code.
I assume it still has the bumper to bumper warranty. if the engine light is still on the dealer should have no problem finding out what's wrong and you shouldn't have to pay a dime
