glove box latch repair

i have a 89 f250 that the catch has broken out of the dash anyway to repair this

The glove box latch catch that attaches to the dash, is still available from Ford. FTE sponsor y2kfordparts has them in stock. List is $18.46 / FTE member discount price is $13.30.

im sorry i didnt make myself clear the plastic that holds the wire catch has broken out im wondering has had this problem and has "retro fitted " the plastic somehow

I have the same issue here. I found a pece of rod the latch matches nicely and now have to decide how and where to mount it. Reshaping the rod shouldn't be an issue, even though I don't have a vise handy.

I was wondering if you found a solution?
