Okay, I kinda made a serious mess of my 351 Sand and water managed to get into the oil and really screw it up.
I'm looking to replace the eninge, but the question becomes "how big can I get?" I'd like something in the 400 series to relace that one. but would my transmission and everything else tolerate that? Or good willing could I put in a 7.3L out of an excusion?
Most of the mustang engine builders can hook you up with a 351 stroked up to 440, but don't go there. I believe a practical stroker is 393 or less. I don't know which 351 you have (M, W, or W H.O.), but they are all good for serious power without getting into a nightmare engine swap, especially like a 7.3L. You'd have to overhaul the entire vehicle for the weight and torque, and all those Bronco squeeks would turn into rattles or worse. If you are blessed with EFI, then you could probably do
without the extra cubes and upgrade the heads, and MAYBE the cam...not neccessary unless you are wanting start racing the quarter mile or tow a house up a mountain. I'm considoring the 320-331 stroked 5.0, for my 90 model.
