I am preparing to install new speedometer gears in the transfer case so I can get my cruise control to work again. I posted earlier about fixing the worn out driving and driven gears on the output shaft. Thanks to a member of this forum I was able to get the parts and learn the procedure. I am trying to remember the procedure.
I remember that I will have to index and remove the driveshaft, remove the nut, lock washer and seal on the yolk, slide the driving gear off the output shaft, install in the reverse order with a new seal. I guess there might be a bearing on the way in there after the seal.
Does this sound correct? Anything I should look out for?
The driving gear I got is 8 tooth#88 and just in case an 8 tooth T5D1. The driven gear is an 19 tooth # 82S in Raptor trans. numbers.
