I didn't want to hijack OzarksFord's thread about the oil breather tube so I'll ask this in a new thread.
Does anyone know where to get a oil breather cap with integral filter? I'd like to get rid of the tube altogether. I'd prefer painted to chrome, but am open to suggestions.
The whole idea of the tube/filter arrangement is to take the crankcase fumes and reintroduce them into the intake....to burn them up instead of dumping them into the air we breathe.
K&N makes replacement breather caps with filters. Keep the PCV valve and tubing tho. It is very important for keeping crap out of the oil and keeping the engine clean. Replace the PCV valve annually.
Engines with EFI or electronic engine controls have to keep the breather tube from the valve cover to the air intake or it will throw off the engine controls.

I'm keeping the PCV system. The tube I'm talking about is the one that pulls clean air into the crankcase. Thanks fro the replys!
