Stupid question?

I was talking to an old farmer guy that says he has always added his waste oil to his fuel. He claims that it's a good use for the oil and saves him a few bucks every so often. Has anyone else heard of such a thing?

Sure. Seen it done lots of times in tractors and even a few big trucks. It tends to make them smoke more but doesn't really seem to harm the engines. However, these are all naturally aspirated (non-turbo) non-computer controlled engines. Don't try this in your 99 - 03 powerstroke. Once may not hurt it, but repeated use and you'll be asking for troulbe.

Well I always thought that these old farmers bought a new truck every two years for tax write-offs.

Now I know the real reason. Only two years and the truck runs like cr@p because the injectors are all shot.
