Cab bushings -> solid?

Just curious if anyone has eliminated the cab rubber mounting and made the cab solid to the frame? I am re-assebling my '54 and have just installed a firewall bake booster. What concerns me is the brake lines from the master cylinder on the cab to the frame rails, with the constant cab flex it may cause the metal to fatigue in the line. I made several spirals in the line as a sort of a flexible interface...

I have installed a IFS kit from Indstrial Chassis so I suspect a smoother ride. Maybe smooth enough to use urethane bushings for the cab to frame mounting?

I wouldn't do it. Have heard of things like breaking windows, rattling cab, etc. that happens if you mount them direct...even if you have air bags.

I would give the brakes extra line & plenty of room to move.

Cab Bushings

These old truck frames were designed to flex quite a bit, and I'm sure the cab has a "soft" mount in the rear to keep the stress from torquing the cab. I'm not sure I'd eliminate the rubber bushings. The brake lines will be OK especially after the "coils" you've put in them.

These cabs need all the help they can get. I would rather ADD a set, rather than taking it out. Ride like a new Ferd truk!

I am in the process of installing a new IFS and happened to look at the front cab bushings on my 56...they are so old that they look more like stale bisquits than rubber! This cab for all itents and purposes is rigid mounted...no broken windows but lots of squeeks.
