Has anyone ever installed a shoreline 110v charger to their F150?
I'd like to install a system basically like what we have at work, where you can plug the truck into the wall and it keeps everything charged...especially when using the radio and stuff while the truck is off.
Basically I took an outside waterproof box and cover, waterproof romex, the recessed power plug, a 12/2 extension cord, another box and outlet.
First cut off both ends of the extension cord you will use this as a powerwire. Remeber on a vehicle you should use stranded and sheilded cable so the heavy extension cord was a good choice.
I ran the power cable threw the grey water proof conduit.
I then routed the conduit from the front of the truck, threw the engine compartment, under the firewall, under the driver floor along the other wireloom and zip tied them together.
When I got to under the backseat I drilled a hole in the floor and ran the wireloom up and RTV sealed it .I then routed the wire into a box and installed the outlet.
For the front I made a braket as shown and installed the front plug.
Now I have shorepower in my vehicle. I simply purchased a $20 1.5 amp float charger from walmart. I simplied plugged it into my outlet inside the truck and hooked the charger into my rear cigar plug.
Hmm...ok, so does this system charge your battery at the same time? Or simply provide you with a shoreline connection to plug things into inside the truck?
