I have a 65 f250, PO has 3 antennas one on the roof and one on each upper cab corners. I hate where they are I'd like to eliminate a least two and either change one to a thinner cleaner style or move it also. Now, it;s a work truck but I'd like it to look nice. I see that they have power antenna for $30 or should I go with a standard pepboy's mast style. Secondly where does it go? Last should I be "slick" and hide it some where are good locations??? I would just hide it in the roof, however I do like listening to talk radio AM. The vehicle did not come with a radio, I have mounted on the roof. I did try just laying the antenna up there but it looks like it needs to be grounded.
Right front cowl panel was the original antenna placement for 1961/66 F Series trucks. It was also the place the 1967/79 antennas were located. If the antenna is on the left side, the radio was not installed by Ford or a Ford dealer.
Thanks ND, this truck never had a radio. I cannot cut up a perfectly good dash, but I don't mind poking a hole in the cowl. Is there a dimple or does any body have a pic?
