my fuel pump on my 73 f250 is squirting gas out of what looks like a screw hole... i think. its squirting out on the side facing the cab and there is another of the same hole in the fuel pump facing the grill and it looks to be filled w/ something. help plz
I put a new fuel pump on my 78 351M just last week. The part was less than $20 and it took about 15 minutes to swap it out. I'd just swap in a new one if it was me.
My fuel pump was a pain to get out because of the power steering pump which i had to remove. The fuel pump cost like $15.00. Of course the $2.00 fuel filter. I had a hard time matching mine up so I pulled the old one and showed the local parts store what i needed. Oh and I have the 460 BB.
poopies. i have noooooooooooo money... and im going out riding 2maro... lol... well i get paid 2maro so maybe i can go by nappa, they should have it. kew thanks guys. oh and if i replace that should i get a new fuel filter too? i think its still got the stock one...
Yup replace the filter when you replace the pump and Napa might not be the cheapest around. I got mine from Advanced, in stock and cheap. I love old trucks my brother in laws fuel pump for his newer ford truck was around $130.00.
And you still aren't sure about being proud to own an older ford, then call Napa and price a fuel pump for a 99 Dodge 1/2 ton with a 318!!! Think you are broke now!?

You think thats bad go price a fuel pump for a 76 bronco with a 302 at advance auto.
you might also want to check your oil level too, it might be a little high, sometimes these will pump fuel into the crankcase which dilutes the oil and is a VERY bad thing. smell the oil too if it smells like gas do NOT drive it until it's changed, well unless with that new fuel pump you want a new engine too.
