RCA hookups for multiple amps

I will be putting in two amps into my expedition soon and was wondering what the preferred method of connecting them is. One is a 4 channel amp and the other is a mono sub amp. My headunit is an Eclipse 5425 with 2 pre-outs for front and rear channels and a third non-fader pre-out. I just want to know if it's better to run the RCA for the mono from the non-fader on the headunit or the out on the 4 channel amp. Thanks for any help.

The non-fader is specifically for sub amps. Run the non-fader to the mono amp and the front and rear outputs to the 4-channel amp.
