Today, I worked on fitting my hood, at the left rear where it meets the cowlside there was a 3/4" gap, and it was high. After much staring at the hood linkage and spring setup, it dawned on me that to get the hood to go lower and to the rear you had to rotate the bracket attached to the cowlside up in front and down in the back. Now this sounds simple now, but you don't know how long I've been screwing with this ever since I got the truck. Anyway, hood looks great now.
In preparation for the trip to Knoxville, I've been driving the truck for all my errands & what not, to try to flush out the next bug. Today got brave enough to take it out on the expressway and it did great, no problem keeping up with 60-65 mph traffic. Felt like I coulda got up to 80 no problem.
I looking for a secondary latch for the hood. Little bit concerned that I might hit a big bump in the road and the hood'll fly up. Have any of you installed such a thing, and if so what did you use. It wasn't original equip so nobody is making one for the 48-52's
Also ordered my "runtz's" today for the cluster gages so I can fire up the original gages.
