Got the radiator replaced
The drain was noticably different from the stock one (stocker was a valve, new one was a six sided plastic bolt). Both drain the same way, and I like the new one a lot better as it's a lot easier to get a 1/2" socket or wrench in there than my hand when I need to drain it again.
Found a TON of crap between the radiator and condensor. If you're having overheating problems or anything of the sort, check this area out! The radiator can be unbolted without being drained or anything to clean between it and the condensor. Lots of leaves, etc. were in between my radiator and condensor, which definetly didn't help the cooling in Texas.
Total job took less than an hour for replacement and an hour and a half total. I removed the overflow tank as well and cleaned it out as best I could, including letting it sit with cleaner inside of it while I ate dinner.
I also cleaned the condensor out with a water hose as best I could from the rear while I had the opportunity. Truck is running a good bit cooler now as best I can tell, I guess I'll see how it does when we finally get another hot day.
Just trying to give a little feedback on that post you guys all helped out with and the "quick" procedure for replacement:
Wait 'til engine is cold.
If you have the stock intake tube, it's gotta be removed.
Remove pressure cap on radiator.
Remove drain **** and allow the radiator to drain.
Unbolt the fan shroud and hang it against the engine on the fan. Two bolts on top, two clips on bottom. Unbolt and pull up.
Unclip the hose from the radiator filler to the overflow tank and set out of the way.
Unclamp upper radiator hose, move out of the way. Some fluid may come out, or it may not. Mine didn't.
Unclamp lower radiator hose, remove. Fluid will run out.
Unbolt the radiator, one bolt on each side at the top.
Remove the radiator. It took a LOT of force to make mine move, enough that I checked several times for something else holding it in place. All that was there was the two bolts at the top and the two "pegs" that align it at the bottom. It comes straight up and out.
Remove the rubber trim from the top of the radiator and install on new radiator.
Reverse procedure to install new one.
I typed this fast, so I hope I didn't miss anything, I'll double check later. Hope it helps somebody!
