Can this be done easily?

My 55 F-600 runs like a sewing machine and looks like a rolling scrap yard. I have found a complete 56 cab, fenders and hood that is in really nice shape and within my budget. How easy would it be to swap the 1955 cab, hood and fenders with the 1956 cab, hood, and fenders? Thanks!

That should be a easy, direct bolt on swap.

What Jeff said.

The difference, other than cosmetic, will be that the 56 is a 12 volt system and the 55 is 6 volt. But the gage pod in your 56 is still 6 volt (I believe).

Gas tank locations are different, at least on the F100's. Doors also do not interchange.

Ok. Thanks Guys! The 56 cab is complete, so the door thing will be ok and the truck has already been converted to 12 volt so that isn't a problem. Pray for me though, LOL! I am not much of a mechanic in general and this swap will be a first for me. I know that there are a few sources of cab mounts and such so I will get my ducks all lined up before I start this summer. Thanks again!
