Wet Seats!

Made the DUMBEST mistake ever. had a two hour chemistry class last night, reviewing for our final. i left a small crack in the window. weather turned for the worse and the seats, steering wheel and center console got soaked pretty good. i didnt even realize it was raining in class. ran as fast as i could to the truck across campus but the damage had already been down. seats got those rings that look like water damage. anyway i can fix that? the seat belt buckle wont clip when i try to put it on either. any fixes for this?

...........

I wouldn't freak out right yet... I would probably let it sit in the sun and get good and hot to dry out whatever was wet... As far as the seats... I would probably soak them down with some leather replentisher/cleaner and that usually takes out the wet spots for me... I take my ski boat to the river a lot ... so I usually have a bunch of drunk wet girls getting in my truck at the end of the day.

If cloth seats then you will have to pretty much clean the whole seat to get rid of water ring. I don't bother cuz the 3 yo is bound to spill something everyt time she climbs in, lol.

Just get a carpet cleaner with an extension to do stuff like that. It pulls it right up.

The main thing is to get it dried out as soon as possible - to keep down any funky mold / mildew growth and minimize corrosion. Heat and airflow are good for starters...get the moisture out of the seats and blow it away in the air. If you know anyone who has a dehumidifier, you could plug that in, run an extension cord inside the cab and let it run overnight, etc. If you have any long trips to take, run the AC on high recirculate as that will help pull moisture out of the interior air as well.

Then you can worry about cleanup and repair.

I’d rent a carpet cleaner, suck as much water as I could out first and then clean them. Then I’d toss a bucket of that moisture absorbing stuff under the seat until things are under control.

Ford makes a stain and spot remover, I was shown it by a dealer tech and friend. It works very well. I was able to not only get water spots off my grey seats with it, but also took a grease spot off the center console lid, my brother's lucky that came out! I give this product an A+, I got it from the local ford parts department for about 6 bucks and change.

Call a carpet cleaner company and ask if you can rent an industrial duhumidifer. Those things can turn the inside of a Houston house into a desert.
