Anyone dealt with them for your extended warranty?

They are finally sending an inspector to look at the vehicle to authorize repairs reccomended by the dealer. (this is day 3)

alternator, upper and lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends.

normal? something to worry about?

Never dealt with them, but im sure if tehy have someone local they will send em out to take a look at it before cutting ya a check for a grand or so. Im guessing thats what the bill would be.

Im surious as to how much cheaper the 3rd party warranty was compared to the dealer offered extended warranty. Did you compare both prices? I paid $2050 for a 3/36 bumper to bumper from ford.

there are so many variables--some warranty companies like to drag there feet but there should be compensation for alternate transportation--oh-off ?? no-if yer truck is stock(where the failed part is concerned) and you got coverage for the failed parts, an inspector is not an unusual request from the warranty co. they pay for it

Perfectly normal. They just want to make sure you are indeed having the work performed, and by a reputable repair shop. And they will look at the parts to make sure they need replacing.

I guess they have been defrauded so often they had to come up with a solution.

I am not opposed to the inspection, it is just that they sent him on the afternoon of the third day the truck was in the shop and apparently have not given their OK to the work yet (early on day 4).

As far as being a reputible shop, it is at the dealership that sold me the warranty. I would have hoped they did their homework before now.

If they can't get me my truck today I guess I will ask for a rental. Maybe that will speed them up.

Don't know the cost of the warranty, but this was the warranty sold to me at the dealership. I thought it was a Mfg. warranty at the time.

The original selling dealer was a personal friend of mine and I never had a doubt that he would stand behind it. The dealership was sold in the past few months and the new owners don't know me from Adam.
