The last couple months we have not driven the EX daily due to getting an extra car and it has been stalling after initial startup and missing occasionally. It runs OK after getting running for awhile. It seems to only happen after it sets for several days without being driven. Had CPS replaced several months ago when it was running really bad which corrected the problem then. The wife has run it low of fuel (all the time)
Basics first, I guess. Fresh fuel, new fuel filter. Fresh oil (it runs the injectors) & inspect or replace your air filter. Go and drive the thing. I would suggest driving it in town. You want it to be/stay hot with lots of varying RPM. Not necessarily cruising on the highway.
I started it yesterday with wife there and it would idle good and would rev up like normal then either quit completely or miss a couple times and then quit.
She said it seems the same as before the CPS was replaced recently. I was out of town on business when CPS went out and was replaced so never got to see what it was doing. My son works after school a local shop where work was done and owner/mechanic is very good. What are the odds of a CPS being bad ?
CPS was bad and replaced again at no cost.
Mechanic said this was the first CPS he had replaced that had gone bad.
FYI
On unrelated issue, replaced the pittman arm that have had problem with keeping large retaining nut tight and I suspected the arm to be moving some on the shaft. It obviously was because steering is much much better now.
I have seen some topics about "wandering" and this may be problem with some others also.
