Hey guys, I dropped a 545 into my 74 crew cab 4x4 and bought the hooker headers and motor mounts made for that swap and guess what, it doesn't work, the headers are in line with the front drive shaft. leaving me about 3/8" of travel. NOT GOOD!
I was wondering if anyone new what manifolds would fit between the frame rails on the 74? I tried some off my old donnor car Linclon but they flare out at the exhaust exit and hit the frame. Is there a tighter one that will work? Someone told me the EFI manifolds may work.... Maybe? Thanks
L&L has chassis and fenderwell headers, never seen the chassis ones but if you used the fenderwell headers it would be clear out of the way of everything
The left side manifold is the same from either a car or a truck. the right side needs to be one for a 70's 2 wheel drive that came out with a 460. The truck manifolds from an 80's model should work too. I would get a different set of headers so it can breath. The L&L's are probably to small, they only have 1-7/8" primarys and 3" collectors.
Thanks guys, I went to Bronco graveyard and ordered up a set, I sure hope they work, they should be here in a couple more days and I will let you know how it worked out. Thanks again!
