86 C-6 question

86 C-6 question
On the kickdown linkage from the carb to the tranny (to make it down shift), the rod goes to a u-shaped piece on the side of the tranny. What I need to know is if that u-shaped piece goes up and towards the back, or down and towards the front. By the feel of it, I would guess up and to the back. It was not hooked up when I bought the truck so I really don't know.If someone knows this off the top of their head, let me know. If not, will someone with a C-6 please crawl under their truck and tell me? I just need to know where the rod connection is in relation to the piece sticking out of the side of the tranny. It should be approx 1 o'clock or 7 o'clock. Thanks a million, I want to button this up tomorrow and I also need to do a filter and gasket change while I am under there.

yes the pivot linkage at the tranny is kind of u-shaped, i cant remember if it goes up or down its been a few years since i installed my c6. if you still need to know let me know and i will crawl under mine and look
