? about oil change

Today after my oil change was done, I got in my truck and started it up and at idle it felt like it was missing.....is this a symptom of air in the oil system cause of the filter not being completely filled with oil during the change? It has progressively gotten better everytime I started it up today but I was just wondering.

Air

Sounds like some air may worked its way into the HPOP.
Its always best to prefill the filter on the 7.3L or any engine for that matter.

I did that too on my first oil change, totally forgot to fill the oil filter with a liter + worth of oil. Damn near crapped my drawers when the noise hit from the air in the system. Went away and I breathed easy and learned from it. :-)

a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.... they taught me in the army to fill the oil filters on the trucks as full as i could get them before i put them on... i didn't learn why until i got to my unit and a knowledgable warrant officer who was in charge explained it to me... the filter on my truck takes almost 2 qts of oil, i would not put it on empty just because of the old habits i learned so long ago, it's nice to hear that i learned how to do it right even if i didn't know why at first...
