02 f-350 front axle

Hello all,
Maybe someone can help me. I have noticed a clunk in the front of my truck. So I jacked it up in the front and the right wheel seems like it is going to fall off. I can see the axle seal just floating around on both ends and the axle is super loose. Can someone tell me where I can find a parts breakdown or repair info PLEASE. I have went to every place I know to get a manual and everyone has to order it.I really need it fixed because it is all I have to drive.I dont have the money right now to pay for this repair. If anyone could help me in anyway it would be great. Thanks . Spec

Better park it then and take the bus.
You have to buy the whole hub assembly for $300.00 aprox.

Is there a bearing at the axle housing too?

Honestly I am only going on what others have written here on FTE. I've never had one apart myself to be able to tell you all about it.
I just know that if your front bearing fails, you cannot get the individual parts, but have to buy the whole thing.

It is normal for the axle seal to break off the axle or tube and just lay inside the tube. However the axle shouldn't be too loose. If you jack up the side of the truck and use a digging bar or pipe to push up and down on the tire, have someone look or you look under and make sure it is not the ball joints, an in fact the hub.

Kwik is correct.

There are two replaceable bearing on each side of the diff. One replaceable bearing is deep within the diff axle tube and with a hub going out, it will not damage that.

A new hub contains 3 bearings, the two main bearings are non-replaceable, only the needle bearing is. If the needle bearing is toast, you could have damaged the stub shaft that will add to the repair. Both the diff axle housing and knuckle have seals that are replaceable.

With what you describe, I would say that you will need a minimum of the hub assembly and knuckle seal. You will have to pull the old hub off to see if the axle stub shaft is toast.

If you go to the website in my sig, there is a needle bearing maintenance page that will give you an idea of what you are in for.
