1997 e150 gear shift problems
Today all of a sudden my 1997 e150 cargo van will not shift into drive. Feels like the shift lever is locked or something and my ABS light also started flashing just now also.
I drove it about 80 miles today with no problem. Haven't had any tranny probs either. This is weird because it just happened today. Van runs starts fine. Any suggestions or fix. Please forgive me if i missed this info during my search through previous posts, and advise me of where i can find this info or where i should post this type of question in the future. Your prompt help will be appreciated. My work van is my lifeline.

check your fuses and pull the codes from the computer
if this is caused by the bobo switch then you can
disconnect the solenoid that locks the shifter
its at the lower end of column near the floor
one wire plug, just disconnect it and you can
shift out of park with out the brake pedal push
