turbo kit
hey guys i am looking for a used turbo kit for my 6.9, New is not really in my budget right now sinse i am in college. I figured you guys would know the best place to find a used one.

only place i see them is e-bay and that is rarely, a new turbo kit i would say is worth it seeing as that is how i did it and i'm in college also, worth every penny i tell you what, the thing to worry about with a used turbo kit is that i may not come with everything, some guys on here may have one you could buy but this isn't a site to buy and sell fyi, also try local junk yards, i would say save your pennies and just buy a new one, i went with ATS and am very pleased, looked into banks but banks is about 1000 bucks more, hypermax brand new is 1500 bucks vs 2300 for an ATS but a hypermax turbo is non wastegated non ball bearing so you can only get 12lbs of boost max which is all one of these engines can take stock, but i say save your pennies wait a little while and buy a brand new one that way you will have everything needed, thats just my .02

Even if you do go ahead and get a used turbo kit, alot of the missing parts can be ordered from the company. Most expensive parts are the turbo itself, exhaust piping to the rear and the guages. Ebay turbo kits usually go for $500-$900. Turbo rebuild costs about $400 from the company. All factors including, that turbo would have to be in pretty poor shape to cost even close to as much as a new turbo. Also, the Hypermax kit is $1600 and IIRC it doesn't come with gauges or an exhaust. Throw in the other parts its missing and you are right up there with the ATS kit. The Banks kit costs a bit more, but it is complete from end to end. You can check out their websites and check it out:
