speedometer cable question

speedometer cable question
how is the best way to go about changing the speedo cable in my 83 f150 4wd ?

Disconnect it at both ends and replace it. It snakes around some hard to get to places, and you have to pull the cluster which is a headache, but there is not much to it after that.

Are u sure you have to pull the cluster? Isn't there a catch on the back?

I didnt have to pull my instrument cluster. Just reach up and under the dash to disconnect the cable. No problem.
