I went ahead and got my truck to a trans shop for the leaking problem i had comming from the front of it. The guy called me back alittle while ago and told me i would most likley be better off having it redone well i asked what it would cause to have it all done up and larger tranny cooler his price was 3000-3500 is that about right or am i getting bent over for it this is not through ford since the trans they put in didnt last but it did get me well over 100,000 so iam not going to knock them that bad
sounds about right, but look in to BTS trans, 4200 will get you Bulletprof trand with triple lock TC and 6.0 trans cooler, http://www.brianstruckshop.com/index.html
one more thing has any body ever heard of something put into the computer so u are unable to put your program back into the truck after they put in a new trans
IIRC BTS is between 4 and 4.5K. And they are pretty much indestructible by what i have heard, and the customer service is very good. A ford reman is like 2.5K. I paid 2900$ for one, but my trans had issues before it went to get rebuilt......
i had the ford rebuild and it did last but i pull excavation equip almost every day for my buisness but know i just want something that is going to last as long as the truck does
If you can hold out for the BTS do it. The trans is 3900.00 trans cooler 325.00 and fluids and so 110.00. But with Brians warranty YU will never have to buy another trans again.
he does shipping, just call him,

look up MAKO314 he has both
Hey matt, i live in MD as well. I got back on the 22nd, i drove out there and got my install done there. Awesome shop, however lead Hill is a freakin black hole, and wouldn't be on the map if it wasn't for BTS. Aside from the benefits of going instead of installing it yourself, there was a problem with my trans when Brian installed it. When we went for the test drive, the TC wouldnt lock. Come to find out that a factory Ford part in the front pump that Brian didn't modify was bad from the start, so he had to repull the trans at 7:30 in the evening, but he got it done and still wanted to buy me dinner.
It's about a 18 hour drive, and i only had to fill up once in Indianapolis and still had 1/4 tank when i got there!
