I was wondering if anyone here had tried putting a long style (three finger) clutch behind their motor on a truck with a stock hydraulic clutch.
If so, did you have disengagement issues? I put a long clutch in my truck since I had one around and it's just been acting goofy since. every now and then it'll stick and not want to shift and other times with the truck off i'll push the clutch in and it won't roll while other times it will.
Do long clutches have a greater disengagement travel that diaphragm clutches that the slave just can't do or should i be looking for another problem?
system is all bled out. I've measured it when it does and doesn't disengage and I'm getting the same travel out of the slave, it just seems like the travel isn't quite enough. As in if i had 1/8" more travel at the arm it would disengage each and every time.
What shape is your throwout fork in? How freely does it move? It might not be seated right or it could be shifting to one side or another while your engaging the clutch. If that checks out to be ok, you might be able to weld some kind of a shim on the end of the throwout fork where the slave cylinder pushes in on it to make up for that 1/8".
