I am currently designing a top for my Bronco that sounds alot like the idea alot of owners are talking about. In the closed form, it will basically be a hard tonneau that covers the bed and a window against the angled back cab. The window is on hinges at the base and can be folded back on to the tonneau. The tonneau is a hard top and is split at the point that runs just behind the back seats in the upright position. This allows for me to fold the back portion up to gain access and also allows the front half to be folded back so that I can raise the rear seat and ride with passengers. I am trying to design a weather proof addition that can easily be carried behind the rear seat and be added quickly to add a weatherproof cab for passengers. I am interested in finding out how many bronco owners would be interested in such a top because I have a patent pending and am considering going into production of them in the near future. I think it will be fairly inexpensive in comparison to payng $300-400 for a vinyl tonneau that doesn't offer any of the benefits of mine. If this sounds like something that interests you, please email me at stateofot(No Email Addresses In Posts!) I should have a web page up soon so you can take a look at the finished design. I am sure you will think it is pretty awesome.
Thanks, I have seen the Skyler model but I don't want to have a vinyl top. I want a hard cover that will secure my tools in the back yet still allow me to take friends where I am going. I also want to have the option to lock up when I get there so that I am not required to leave everything at home so it doesn't get stolen. Thanks for the reply though and I look forward to getting some pictures uploaded to my web site soon so you will be able to get the coolness and practicality of my design.
