Cooling question

Hi All,
My first post, great forum.
I have an 87 5.0,stock, recently my temp gauge is showing the engine running just above the cold line. Of course the raidator and lines are all hot. Replaced the thermostat, temp sensor so far. Might be the gauge but it is working. Moves freely, shows temp. rising to certain point then stops. Live in South FL temp today 101 with heat index so... Any ideas where to start.
Thanks
Joe

Cooling question

Joe, I had a 87F-150 5.8L when it was just 2 years old. My temp gauge always ran to the cooler side as you mentioned. I always kept her tip top shape(hoses, thermostat, fresh coolant, etc.) check with your mechanic about thermostat temp. All in All I'd say your gauge is right on.

Cooling question

My '96 with the 5.8 does the same thing, as does my buddies '92. I thought there may be a problem, but my mechanic says that's just the way they run. Doesn't seem to be a problem...
