Chip or not???

I just baught an 05 F-250 w/ 6.0L w/ 63k miles. Was just wondering how I can tell if the truck has a chip or not. The turbo will boost up to aroung 40psi on factory gauge. Also, is there anyone here who can see if the truck is still covered by the 100k waranty? If so I will PM vin # to you. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, mine is an 05 and 28 psi is about as max as it will get. Are you sure its 40 psi? 30 psi maybe? The gauge does seem to be a little hard to read at times. Maybe its just me.

If you are hitting 40 you better get it fixed quick,
the 6.0 engine will blow head gaskets without head studs at that level.
Maybe you have a overboost conditions.
All powerstrokes have 100k powertrain from ford.
use the oasis request at the top of this board to get the history of your truck(oasis).

I have the oasis. The only thing it was in for was an exhaust temp sensor and egr cleaning and its been dealer maintained. The reason I asked about the warranty is because of how picky FoMoCo is about programmers and such. I dont if it has been programmed or not. I am boosting between 35 and 40. But thats not towing and getting in it a little( about 3/4 throttle).

that would be best because if there is an issue, they can handle it.
