what year is the 351 from? if its newer than 86 (i think) its a 50 oz imbalance and you got yourself the wrong balance. the starter for the 157 tooth- just ask for one from a 1988 mustang with a 5.0
yup it's the bell housing thats making it 164......
just make sure the machine shop did not weld any metal on the fly wheel (sometimes they do....dummies) if they did you will have to have the new one balanced to match.....
wish I could help you out on this one, but I don't have a clue.
If you have the flywheel that came off the truck compare the two........I ran into this problem once and i had to drill and tap the flywheel to use the clutch that worked with the trany. you can buy the right stuff I just couldn't see spending money..I'm a cheap old man.......
is the motor built up enough to require such a mean clutch? Might have to sell it and get the right clutch for that 164 tooth flywheel. I don't know...sorry....
The same flywheel is listed for both 10 & 11 inch clutches: E0TZ-6375-B (no tooth count listed)
This flywheel was only used on 1980/85 351W 2V or 4V. Not used with EFI.
The starter motor
E1TZ-11002-A >> replaced by >> E4TZ-11002-A / Fits: 1980/89 all 300, 302 and 351W engines with a M/T.
The 351M/400 and 460 starters are different.
(Wrong flywheel? parts catalog states the 351W flywheel is unmarked, but the 302 flywheels (there are 3 used 80/89) are marked with Ford engineering numbers: D7TE-GA; E0TE-CA; E1TE-AA)
(Wrong starter? Do you have any numbers from the starter you are trying to use? Ford starters are usually marked with engineering numbers).

Well just for kicks i went and got a mustang starter and it bolted up just fine. It just never even touched the flywheel. So now before i pull the motor i gotta find a flywheel that will use my 11" clutch..Any ideas? Also i was looking at the size of the pressure plated and clutch, will a 11" clutch even fit in my stock bellhousing?
Thanks again!
