77&79 steering boxes?

77&79 steering boxes?
ok i have a 77 f150 4x4 and a 79 f150 4x4 and the steering box on the 77 leaks really bad and i was going to put the one off the 79 on the 77. I went to inspecting the boxes and the steering shaft that goes from the box to the steering wheel assy on the fire wall are hooked up different, one has the rubber isulator (rag joint)? more toward the fire wall and one has the isulator right at the steering box. Is there some way i can change the steering box input off the 79 to match the 77 configuration???
