As everyone knows, most broncos can seat 5- two in the front, three in the back. But has anyone played with the idea of adding another bench behind the existing bench? So a grand total of 2 benches... I would love to be able to carry 8 people instead of just 5! If so, please let me know how you did it!
I had thought about that too, as I used to have a spare seat out of a Blazer that someone gave me. The good thing about the Blazer's rear bench is that it mounts flat on the floor. All you have to do is drill four holes and put in the bolts. I decided not to because I rarely have more than four people in my truck and it seemed that space would be limited, but maybe not, I never measured it.
You can also get a setup with a folding bench up front, my neighbor's got one in his Bronco Custom (which he's selling -- it's a shame I don't like the 87-91 bodystyle).
I agree, I can't stand the look of the 87-91's I actually had a chance about 3 years ago to pick-up a sweet 88 eddie bauer for short money... but... I just can't stand the 87-91 look....
Uzi... Yamaha Sleds, Honda Bikes, and Ford Trucks....
My dad installed a bench seat from an early Bronco in the back of his 80 Bronco. It worked out fine but it eliminated a lot of storage room in the back.
You know, I don't like the front end look of the 87-91 either, but I am looking for an 87 anyway with a 351 HO- the last of the carbed Broncos!!! I plan to change the front clip to the 92-96 sheetmetal, which looks better in my opinion. My friend converted his 89 after a frontend collision, and it was basically bolt on. That is one option if you get a good deal...
I have given that idea some thought. If you do, make sure that you do not drill holes into your gas tank. Maybe mount it on two 2x4s so that you can drill holes in them around the gas tank.
