Ok I just purchased a 1973 2 wheel drive custom Styleside. I would like to get a 80"s flareside and put 70's rounded fenders on it to make it look right .
My box measures out to be 6 foot 10 inches . Was there a seven foot box ? I thought there was only a 6 foot or 8 foot box . If there is a seven can I get a flareside for it ?
My other question is I like the stance on the 4 wheel drive can I get a lift kit for a 2 wheel drive to give it that ride height look of a 4 wheel drive ?
I believe the advertised shortbed length is 6 1/2' so your measurement shouldn't be to far off, I'm at work right now or I would go and measure the one on my 74. There are several comanies out there doing reproduction beds, problem is I have brain lock right now and can't think of names. As far as the lift kit, I checked with several of the major suspension comanies several years ago and nothing is available for the 73-79 2wd trucks. Maybe go with a body lift though and give the clearance for larger wheels and tires, that could give you the look.
