gearbox change
Yes, I have a 1954 Ford truck that I am replacing the gearbox and steering shaft. I was wondering if I get the vehicle up high enough and unbolt pitman arm and gearbox bolts, if I can remove from underneath the truck and install my new one from underneath also.

Steve, I replaced mine, but not the way you described. But thinking about what was involved, I don't see any reason why you couldn't take it out through the bottom. In fact, in the long run it would make some things easier (leaving the steering column, floor parts, etc in place).
