Hi guys, my name is Paul, and I've been hot rodding anything with 4 wheels for about 25 years, but this is my first Ford truck. I have a '72 F-100 XLT with 54K actual miles I just purchased for $500 from the little 77 year old dude who custom ordered it new. He had the dealership replace the factory 390 with a 428 SCJ engine. When I bought it, he had installed a '63 Galxie 390tri-power intake set-up on it, but I removed it because I couldn't get it dialed in. After a re-build and new linkage, we'll see where we're at. I painted the truck last week, it was covered with surface rust, but it's basically a VERY solid body that's never even been dinged. I'm looking to lower it about 4 inches in the rear without bagging it, and about 2 inches in the fron using springs and if needed, reversed spindles. The interior work is being done as I write this with 2 tone tan leather and olive suede. The paint shceme is Nissan Champagne Gold Pearl over Olive Pearl, that has been mixed with House of Kolor tints and had the pearl weight double up on it. The clearcoat separated a bit, so I'll be color sanding, and re-clearing it this next week. The rims are 15x10 baby moons in the rear with 275/60/15, and 15x7 baby moons in the front with 235/60/15. The trans is a factory installed FMX, and the rear is a 9" posi with 373:1 gear set. I look forward to talking with you guys about your rides, and learning more about my own as I get deeper into its restification. I'll post pics to a gallery as soon as I learn HOW. Thanks for letting me have a place to sound out new ideas, and learn from you guys who've already done it all.
Best regards, and keep it shiny side up!
Paul
First off welcome to the site, and second that sounds like a really nice ride. The paint sounds like something you would see on american hot rod, but good choice though. Congrats on your new ride and good luck with it also. Joe
Wow! I will look forward to seeing picture of that one. Sounds like it will be a head turner.
Uploading pictures is pretty straightforward. Just follow the directions under the gallery tab above and find where you have them stored on your hard drive.
I got a few pics of the truck up a little while ago. It ain't much right now. I still need to cut in the interior and such, but that'll get done in the forrlowing week as I get my interior back from the upholsterer's shop. Thanks, guys.

You have one totally awesome ride and the SCJ must rock, I`m waiting for lots of pictures as well!
I followed the link and requested membership in the NC chapter. I'll post other pics as I get more work done on the truck. We've been working on it steady. We've only owned the truck 3 weeks, but it's coming along really nicely, I think. And yeah. The SCJ really rocks. It would be better though if I could find a good dual quad set up for it. I'm looking.Right now though, my biggest problem is deciding to cut out the original AM/FM stereo and mounting tabs and installing a CD head unit. What do you think?Go for it, or leave it stock? This is an awfully nice truck to cut up. But just wait. Next month I'll be fighting with myself over narrowing the rear and tubbing the bed, LOL.
Best regards,PW
