truck bed

I have a 78 f-250 4x4 with a flat bed. Was wondering what year truck beds would bolt on and body lines would match up?

73-79 all lines should match, problem is bolting them onto the frames. Frame width varies from 4x4 to 4x2 even years. I had to run angle iron, bolt the iron to the frame then bolt the bed to the angle iron. Or drill new holes in the bed to match the frame. My bed is from a 76 4x2.

'78 and '79 beds should all be the same frame width, whether 2x4 or 4x4. '73 to '77 and half the frame widths for 4x4's was different.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think I've seen on here the frame width for Highboys was different than reg 4x's.
