I wonder if Ford is aware of the business they are losing by holding the V10's back and loading the dealers up with diesels.
Granted diesels are good but not everyone wants a diesel.
I know a number of people who gave up waiting and bought the Toyota Tundra's off the lot with 5.7 liters
I am a 100% ford man but friends are pushing me toward the Tundra with greater towing power than the Ford 5.4
I really wanted the F250 V10 but am giving up and refuse to order and have to wait 6-10 weeks.
I realize Ford pushes the diesel and doesn't want to produce "slow moving" V10's. They always will. The motive is $.
If you want one that bad, it's time for you to take the initiative. There are probably 3000 Ford dealers in the USA and at least one will have the truck you want and eager dealers will search for it on their network to make a sale. Did you try that?
There are probably leftover '06's out there that will be bargains too.
Outpost22, thanks for your input on the V10, I may have the dealer do a search but I do want the 2008 F250 V10
That link is for an '08 that I posted. It took me 5 minutes to find it and there were a LOT more listings I didn't even look at to see if they had V10's.
Good luck!
When I wanted my V10, there were two with the gearing I wanted (in the Pacific Northwest). One in Oregon and one in Washington. One Lariat and one XLT. I wanted an XLT but the XLT didn't have Tow Command so I had to buy a Lariat (which ended up being fine). They are hard to find around here and are most commonly sold as commercial vehicles.
Strange, I didn't have any trouble finding one a few years ago-every Ford dealer in my area had at least two V10s in stock.
I drive by one dealership on the way to work and they have a new V10 KR Crew in their "display" area right in front of the lot. I stopped and looked at a few days ago-talk about sticker shock!
Before I ordered my F250 V10 the dealer did a search and found 2 v10 with the right equipment but wrong color, very litlle selection in v10s out there. It looks like my new truck will be here in less then 6 weeks after I placed the order.
