can anyone tell me what year and models will interchange? my truck is a 77 f350 dulaay cab and chassis. i need the crossmember that the center bearing and the next one towards the trucks rear as mine are in poor shape. i have a 76 same truck outside but it is in great shape and i hate to chop it unless i have to.
early or late 77? if the frame rails are 34" on the back then its an early 77 and anything from 73-early 77 will fit, if its the 37.5" frame on the rear then the late 77-79 will fit, change happens just after the cab. doesnt matter if its f150,250,or 350 as far as i know for the crossmembers.

i don't know. repainted rust repaired. i ordered new vin tags and stickers. waiting for them to come in. i ran my 76 today and the motor smokes alot. so i will probably strip it for parts.

darrin, he said it was a cab and chassis not a pickup.34" is the North American standard for commercial truck frames. Along with medium/heavy trucks all F350 and up C&C models used (as far as I know still use) it.This was done so the truck equipment manufacturers wouldn't have to build seperate bodies for each make of truck.
Ok correct me if im wrong so i dont seem stupid. I thought that 73-79 all 100s and 150s and the 2wd 250s and 350s and the 78-79 4wd 250s had the same frame dimentions. The only ones i thought were different were the 73-77.5 f250 4wd?

With the exception of the late 78 -79 F350 4X4's all of the F350's from 73-79 used the 34" frame. At that point most of the F350's were still cab and chassis models not dually pickups.
Hmm. Ok I thought 4wd 350s didnt exist until 79. And as far as i know There where never any dually pickups until 80. There was never a dually fleetside bed until 80. Err thats the only problem i have with ford. A 73-79 dually fleetside truck would have looked cool.
The Chevy fans like to brag that Chebbie was the first to have a big dually.I love to shut them up with this little tidbit. Ford made the first dually pickups in about 1932 or 33. They didn't sell very well due to the economic conditions and they were discontinued after a few years.
Umm yeah, I forgot to mention the first Ford duallys were step sides.
No they weren't, the bed was over and above the rear wheels, and was wider than the cab. There were no steps, and no rear fenders. Got a photo of one right here.
