4x4 trouble

I have a 99 F-350 ESOF 4x4. When I switch to 4 high the light comes on but I can still spin the back tires (on dirt), when I shift to 4 low it cycles in and out but does engage. Vacume problem or something else?

Most likely a vacuum problem, I think I remember someone saying that when shifting into 4 low it sends a longer or stronger vacuum pulse or something like that.

That makes sense. Does any one know where the most likely places are for them to leak? I will start chasing it tomorrow.

I believe a lot of the time the leak is a seal in the hub itself, but I'm not sure. There are a lot of threads on this subject in here if you do a search.

Think beer is right, haven't had it yet...but a lot of seals at the hubs...check the lines first (behind the huds)

Fixed 4x4 today it was the right hand vacume hose at the hub it was loose. cut off 1/2" and reinstalled and good to go.
